kmc power link 8 speed silver Back in the 80s when it was time to do a chain replacement on my first mountain bike, I was a little baffled on how to take it apart. After all the BMX bikes my brother and I had ripped apart, I was sure there must be a master link. So, I took a trip to the local bike shop and the wrench informed me that many geared bikes don't have master links and I'd need a chain breaker to remove the chain. I like to keep a clean drivetrain, so I asked him if he had a chain that didn't require tools to remove it. He told me about a Sachs chain with a Power Link, nowadays called the SRAM Power Link
